Thanksgiving Montage

Though tardy I thought I'd post a few pics from Thanksgiving. It was a lovely day with various people coming and going. I just love those special days centered around food.

Cooking was quite simple this year -- still on creative food hiatus -- the kitchen is more a play area these days than a culinary studio. You can see from this pic how the babes could thwart any serious artistic attempts.

I did do my roasted sweet potatoes (diced and tossed with olive oil, seasalt, roughly chopped onion and garlic and either thyme or marjoram and roasted for about an hour at 400 - divine!) and you can see Zoe trying to get in on the action. She's a bit confused on the difference between steaming and roasting -- we're working on that.

Auntie Heidi showed up not only with boxes of food but also a belated Birthday gift for DPJ -- a bike!! Finally the poor boy has a bike!! [Jumping ahead: a week later after Dad put air in the tires, one of them exploded with an ear shattering boom! Ugh! Can someone please direct him to a Handyman101 class!]
